The aim of the Data Protection and Privacy Law project is to support process for establishment of the Zanzibar Data Privacy and Protection Law to protect citizens’ information while enhancing citizens’ right to privacy and personal security as stated on Article 15 of the Zanzibar Constitution.

The law will also increase data protection mechanisms on ZanID, driving license, health care, land, business, education, etc. The project is funded by the Freedom House and Pact Tanzania organizations under the Data Driven Advocacy (DDA) project
