From February to December 2018, CYD partnered with Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum (UMYDF), Kenya Muslim Youth Alliance (KMYA) to implement Community Change Agents in East Africa project. This project engaged not only religious leaders and youth but also teachers, psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, social workers, school matrons and wardens, local communities, university deans, Youth peer groups and Radio talk show hosts that engage with disillusioned populations on a daily basis.

The project empowered and built capacities of community change agents around the East African region to identify radicalization instances and adopt strategies to mitigate its spread thus building secure and resilient communities that rejects violent extremism.
